Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
We loved the wooden cross, the flowers, and the DANCING! Our band joined us from Tallahassee and they were aaaamazing.
Did you have something borrowed, something blue, and something new?
Borrowed earrings, blue shoes, new dress. Is this optional?
Did you decide to do a “first look”?
We’re pretty traditional and were against the first look during our entire engagement until we needed to make a timeline for the day and had to be realistic. It made things so much easier and didn’t take away from the big moment at all!
What was the one moment on your wedding day that is most memorable?
Our vows. They were so personal and heartfelt. And Clay’s were so beautiful even *he* needed to compose himself.
Stacey’s most memorable moment: Vanessa’s smiles she was just glowing all day & looked gorgeous. Also, when Clayton played the drums with the band, he was really great!
Brandon’s most memorable moment: Clayton’s speech to thank everyone there to share in their joyous occasion.
What details or traditions did you include in your celebration?
We wrote our own vows, had a sand ceremony, and took communion together. Also our cake was topped with a groom playing guitar to a bride blowing him kisses because that’s basically the image of our first date.
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding?
Don’t leave your veil in the hotel room! And if you do, just move on. About 20 seconds passed from the moment I noticed to the moment I put it out of my mind. No matter what deviates from your plan, big or small, if you can’t do anything about it, LET IT GO. It’s still the BEST day of your life.
