Wedding at Wanderers Club | Jaime + Scott
How did you and Scott meet? The setting was the infamous Roxy’s Pub right in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach. Jaime and her friend Shannon had just enjoyed a nice meal and cocktails. Jaime was ready to call it a night. However, Shannon persuaded her to have one more drink and to say hi to a friend at Roxy’s. Begrudgingly, Jaime agreed.Scott was hanging out with his friends at Roxy’s like any ordinary Saturday night when in came Jaime and Shannon. The girls began speaking with a mutual friend of Scott’s when he and Jaime sparked up a conversation. There was instant chemistry between them and at one point they even had given one another nicknames: Scotch (pron. Sko-tch) and Jaime (pron. Hi-may). The flirty conversation eventually gave Scott the confidence to ask Hi-may out. However, things did not go exactly as planned and drinks got the better of Jaime. Scott asked, “can I buy you a drink sometime.” Jaime replied that she was all set since she already had a drink; missing the obvious invitation. Scott cleared this up and an embarrassed Jaime accepted the invitation and they exchanged phone numbers. Each putting their new nicknames in the others phone.
How did he propose? In the summer of 2015, Jaime and Scott flew across the pond for a European holiday. However, Jaime did not know that Scott had plans to make this an engagement tour. The first leg of the trip was London. It was a simple Sunday and the two had just finished breakfast when they decided they wanted to take a few pictures by the Marble Arch in Mayfair. After taking a few “selfies” Jaime noticed across the street was an old fashioned London red telephone booth. This brought her back to Epcot (Disney World) where she and Scott took a romantic picture in a similar replica phone booth. She thought nothing would be better than another picture in the real thing. Scott knew this was the moment he needed to propose. They crossed the street and when they got to the booth Scott asked someone nearby to help them. Little did Jaime know that Scott asked the gentlemen to take a short video rather than photograph. Jaime got in the booth and when she turned around Scott was on one knee proposing to her. Overwhelmed and excited she repeated “yes” when Scott asked her to marry him. The crowd that had gathered began to applaud.
What was your most memorable moment from your wedding day? How to choose just one memorable moment from a day full of amazing memories? Although I was hesitant about the first look (thank you Stacey for convincing me), that moment was by far the most memorable. The butterflies of walking up to meet Scott are indescribable. When he turned around we looked into one another’s eyes and both began crying in happiness. It was our moment and a moment that I will remember forever. Also, it was a spectacular moment when I surprised Scott with a double decker British bus waiting for us in the parking lot as our chariot home. The British bus was the perfect way to incorporate our engagement in London into the first day of the rest of our lives together.
What inspired your vision for your wedding? Our vision was to create a simplistic yet elegant wedding. We wanted to make sure our wedding reflected our personalities and reflected our love for one another. These days with social media and magazines we saw how couples could get caught up in the hoopla. We always made sure to remember the purpose of the day was to exchange our vows before our loved ones. The ceremony was planned to be outside on the putting green. However, mother nature had other plans. About fifteen minutes before guests were to arrive the sky opened up and it began to pour. This meant our ceremony had to be moved to the covered veranda. Also, since the chairs were now soaked our ceremony would become standing room only. What seemed like was going to be a disaster instead was a blessing. Our ceremony only became more intimate with people standing to watch us express our love for one another. In the end our vision came to fruition because the exchange of our vows truly became the center of attention and all our loved ones felt that. It was clear to everyone, including ourselves, that our love for one another was strong enough to make it through any storm.
