Katie + Jason
Their proposal: Saturday, November 5, 2016: The morning began with coffee and breakfast downtown, followed by a weekly yoga class. Walking back to the car, Jason said he needed to pop into work to grab something, and came back with three cards in his hands and a smile on his face. The cards all had specific times on them for Katie to open them. He said she could read the first card soon but she had to hurry- he had booked an appointment for her at a nearby posh nail salon.
Toes being painted, Katie read her first card: she was to relax and enjoy herself, but once again, she couldn’t take too long; she soon had a massage appointment across town to make. After that, the next card instructed her to go home, relax, and not clean the house like she’d planned to that day. When the time came to open the final envelope, Katie found instructions to be at a French restaurant downtown in an hour, wearing a dress Jason had bought her.
She walked into the restaurant on time, but didn’t see him- and who she did see as she scanned the crowd was a complete surprise. Her sister, brother-in-law, and niece were all seated nearby and waving to her. She was handed an iPad that had a heartfelt video from Jason on it, ready to play. As the video ended, he came inside and got down on one knee. After a few awed profanities, Katie gladly accepted the beautiful ring.
