Wedding at the Addison Boca Raton

Elizabeth + Jacob

How did you and Jacob meet? We met at a local bar. I was with a few of my gal pals and saw a tall, handsome, blue eyed boy across the room and told one of my friends “there’s my future husband”. She dragged me over to talk to him and 6.5 years later — he’s my husband!

How did he propose? Jacob is by no means a romantic, so I never expected an elaborate proposal. And it’s a good thing I didn’t. It was my birthday and we were rushing out the front door to go run errands. He kept delaying leaving and I was getting frustrated. I could tell something was up. Then he grabbed my hand and said “Okay let’s just get his over with”. He got down on one knee (which is as romantic as he will ever get lol) and asked me to marry him! All of my friends say “that’s so Jake”. And it is. I knew he was so nervous and anxious to ask me. It was nothing crazy or elaborate – but it was HIM. And I loved it 🙂

What inspired your vision for your wedding day? We wanted our wedding to be simple, elegant, and rustic all at once. We loved the look of lanterns, wine barrels, and earth-y flowers. Purple and grey were our main colors, with splashes of light green. It all came together beautifully and we got the rustic look we wanted!

What advice would you give other couples planning their wedding? Don’t stress and have fun!! You will spend MONTHS planning and making decisions on things for one night that will only last a few hours. Remember all along that all of it is for your marriage and for your life together FOREVER. Not just for one night. Also, remember – your guests will be looking at the two of you all night. And not nearly as worried about your centerpieces or bouquet as you are 🙂
