Brittany + Nicholas | Wedding at the Addison Boca Raton

Brittany + Nicholas

How did you both meet? Brittany and I met at work in early 2013. We had a lot of mutual friends through the job and got to know each other very well as time went on. We were friends for about 6 months before our relationship grew to the next level. From the night of our first kiss at a Dolphin’s game that November, we have been inseparable ever since.

How did Nicholas propose? I decided I was going to propose at Brittany’s grandparents house, the place where she spent most of her childhood. Brittany has such a strong connection with her grandparents, so I knew proposing at their home would be the perfect location.

When it came time to propose, it was a true team effort with myself and Brittany’s family. Her parents setup lights around the gazebo overlooking the pool and inter-coastal. Her sisters helped pick out the ring. Her grandfather brought the champagne. I was determined to make it a night she would never forget. After dinner, I walked Brittany outside to the gazebo and asked her to marry me. She was in absolute shock, but after gathering herself, she said YES!

After wedding planning began, she knew that her grandparents house would be the place she would get ready for the big day- as her best memories happened there.

What was your vision for your wedding day? As soon as we saw the Addison, we knew that this was the place we were going to get married. We had our hearts set on an all outdoor wedding underneath the banyan trees. Although “mother nature” did not get an invitation, she showed up. We were not able to have the reception outside in the courtyard, however the dinner and dancing felt much more intimate in the main ballroom. As for decor, we knew we wanted to embrace the beauty of the venue. We had a beautiful arch made with greenery and white flowers that we stood under during the ceremony. For our centerpieces, we choose manzatina trees with white floral details. The decor and ambiance turned out even more amazing than we could have imagined.

Something very important to us was that we wanted our wedding to have a truly personal ceremony. After some thought, we decided to ask Brittany’s cousin, Philip, to officiate the ceremony. He took the responsibility very seriously, got ordained just for us, and delivered an incredible ceremony that we will never forget. We decided to write our own vows to each other, making the ceremony completely unique to us, telling our story to all of our family and friends. This was most definitely the highlight of the night.

Tell us about your beautiful wedding gown? I searched all over South Florida for a wedding gown. After many appointments at different salons, I ended my search at Bellissima Bridal in Deerfield Beach (which is where I coincidentally started my search). It was the last dress I tried on and I knew it was the one. Not only was it the fit and flare style I was looking for, it also came in a gorgeous champagne color that was unique compared to other dresses I saw. It was also a great day to say yes to the dress as my parents, sister, and grandparents were all there to take part in that special moment with me.
