How did you and Andrew meet? Andrew and I actually met in high school. But we didn’t start dating until many years later. He tells me he always held a flame for me, but it took him ten years to get up the courage to ask me out. I’m glad he finally did!
How did he propose? I had been preparing to take my exit exam for my Master’s degree for months and was extremely nervous about the test. When I got back home after taking it, he told me he arranged a surprise getaway to reward me for all my hard work. He took me to a lovely hotel on Jupiter beach. After having some cocktails and relaxing, we went upstairs to get ready for our dinner reservations. He told me we had some time to spare and decided we should try to catch the sunset. So as we were watching the sunset on the beach I asked him to take a “selfie”. As I clicked the photo button, he raised up a box with a gorgeous sparkling ring. I cried and he got down on one knee. Of course I said yes 🙂
What was your inspiration for your wedding? I loved our venue, The Addison in Boca Raton. I always knew I wanted to get married under their big Banyan trees. It is so romantic. So I guess romance and the Addison were my inspirations.
What advice would you give other brides planning their wedding? Be decisive. I’ve watched many friends get married and I’ve learned from them. At the end of the day it’s your wedding, you can’t and won’t please everyone. So as great as opinions are from loved ones, at the end of the day you have to go with what you want. Also, know the things that are most important to you and spend your budget accordingly.
