Tracy + Jaime
How did you and Jaime meet? I was living in NYC and was trying on-line dating. Jaime contacted me periodically for 6 months however I never responded to his messages. Then one night as I was “swiping” through messages, I accidentally sent him a “wink” which I had never done to anyone. I didn’t mean to, I just happened to “swipe” too close I guess to the “wink” icon and well….the rest is history!
How did he propose? We were in Florida visiting our parents. We went to the jewelry store and picked out a ring setting. When we got in the car, Jaime said that he was going to go to my parents home to show my dad the ring and to ask for his permission to marry me. He said however that he wanted to wait until Thanksgiving to get engaged so that our entire family could be together. We arrived at my parents home and my parents, Jaime and I sat together and Jaime spoke to my dad and told him how much he loved me and then before I knew it he said, “let’s just make this official now” and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was shocked and beyond surprised. It was also touching to know that he did the proposal in front of my parents so that they could be a part of this joyous moment!
Tell us about your adorable flower girl and fur baby? Sophie is our furbaby and we are obsessed with her. She is 2 years old and provides so much joy to our lives. She was one of our flower girls in the wedding. The funny thing is, she not only had her dress for the wedding before I had mine, she had her dress for the wedding before we even got engaged! I saw the dress at a store and I knew that she would need it!
Where did you get married and what inspired your vision for your wedding day? We were married at the Addison in Boca Raton. As soon as I saw the Addison, I knew that this is where we had to get married. The trees and the architecture are so breathtaking. My vision for that day was to have a romantic, sophisticated winter wonderland since our wedding was in December.
Your wedding gown was gorgeous, tell us the story behind finding your dress? I had tried on numerous wedding gowns. There were several that were pretty however I never got that feeling of, “this is the one”! I had never been married before and thought that maybe I’m just not going to get that feeling and maybe we should just buy “the pretty dress”. In my mind I knew what I wanted but did not see it in any of the boutiques. Once I found a wedding designer I liked, I looked online at all of the dresses and found the one! The only problem was that we could not locate the dress in Cleveland (where we live), Pittsburgh or Boynton Beach Florida. I finally found a boutique in Miami Florida that had a sample dress for me to try on. As soon as I tried it on, I not only knew that I had found the one, but I finally got that “feeling” that this was definitely the dress. My parents also loved it!
What advice would you give our future bride? If I had any advice to give to a bride, I would recommend one major thing: Make sure that you are working with top notch people. The day of your wedding you should enjoy every single moment. The wedding pictures were of great importance to me. I never once had to make sure that Stacey and Brandon were capturing the right shot. They calmly guided me through the entire day and knew exactly what picture shots were important to me because I had discussed this with them prior to the wedding. Stacey was amazing at setting up a timeline for the day which everyone (including other venders) followed. Without Stacey and that timeline, we would have been lost. Stacey and Brandon’s guidance not only the day of the wedding but prior to our event was priceless.
