What was the one moment on your wedding day that is most memorable?
We both agreed that the most memorable moment of our wedding day was by far the first look. We were both overwhelmed with so many emotions. It was great to have the moment to ourselves.
Did you have something borrowed, something blue, and something new?
Something old was my grandfather’s Marine Corp pin tucked in a fold of my wedding dress, something borrowed was my great grandmother’s hand stitched handkerchief wrapped around the handle of my bouquet for when I needed it, something blue was my garter, and something new was my wedding dress!
What details or traditions did you include on your wedding day?
Our wedding was traditional in many ways but also incredibly unique to us. We tried to really incorporate our friends and family in the details and traditions. The details we included revolved around our “beach elegance” theme; many neutral beach colors, sand/shells, white floral arrangements. We wanted to keep it very classic. We had fun details such as personalized drink koozies and sunglasses for guests. The traditions we enjoyed were the cutting of the cake, the first dance, and the garter removal/bouquet toss.
What advice do you have for couples currently planning a wedding?
We advise couples currently planning a wedding to HAVE FUN! Enjoy every single second, every planning moment, and every decision. It will only happen once! And do everything together if you can!! We really tried to do all parts of the planning process together which made each moment more enjoyable. We were so excited to see it all come together in the end.
