Alicia + Matt’s Addison Wedding

Alicia + Matt

How did you meet?

We met all thanks to my brother! My brother and I had a get together at my parents house and my brother told me that he wanted me to meet someone. So Matt came over with his best friend and we didnt talk much that night but we started texting and then started hanging out and the rest is history!

How did Matt propose?

We were at Disney to celebrate our “one year” anniversary. We went to a nice dinner at The Grande Floridian and then watched the fireworks. We went back to the Wilderness Lodge and Matt got down on one knee and before he could fully asked me to marry him I was screaming and crying saying yes!!!

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We went to Sandals Grande St Lucia! It was absolutely beautiful and so relaxing, definitely a must go place.

What inspired your vision for your wedding?

We wanted a unique and traditional but elegant wedding. I can’t say any one thing inspired our wedding; we went with ideas that spoke to us. However I would say most of the wedding revolved around my dress.

Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

I’m not sure I can pick just three! Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect… even if it did rain! However, my three favorite details were our ceremony readings, our cake and my dress!

What was the one moment on your wedding day that is most memorable?

Can I have two? I’m not very good at this one thing! I would have to say our first look, it was so amazing. While I was walking toward Matt the butterflies were such an exhilarating feeling and I got that feeling as I walked down the aisle too. I just remember being so focused on him I couldn’t even tell there were other people there. My second favorite moment was my dance with my dad, it was so special and he had me crying the entire time, there is truly no other bond like a dad and his little girl!

Did you have something borrowed, something blue, and something new?

Something borrowed- my sister-in-laws pearl necklace, it was a wedding gift from my brother. Something old- my great-grandmothers cameo pin that was in my bouquet. Something blue- my shoes Something new- my dress.

What details or traditions did you include in your celebration?

Traditions that we included were our first dance, father daughter dance, mother son dance and cake cutting.
