Deer Creek Golf Club Wedding

Karen + Adam

How did you and Adam meet? Adam and I met in high school, we had a mutual friend who introduced us to each other. And that’s how our love story started. We dated for a couple of months while we were in high school and then came to realize we weren’t ready for something serious (we still had a lot to learn from life). After seven years we reconnected through social media “facebook” and just picked up right from where we had left off. Everything was magical and just felt right, and the rest is just history.

How did he propose? Adam proposed at the Marriott in Fort Lauderdale at restaurant call 3030 where his step father was a waiter. I never thought I was walking into a proposal dinner more like a dinner to check out the restaurant renovations and the new chef but was I wrong. Adam and his step-father had everything all set-up for us to have a lovely dinner. Later on the night we took a walk down the beach. I had turned around one way and when I went to see what he was up to he was already on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the happiest day of my life. I loved that it was intimate, so special and yet so perfect. Just the two of us.

Your dress was stunning. Tell us the story about saying “Yes” to the dress? After going to so many different Bridal stores, and seeing so many options. I never knew it was going to be so hard to find my dress. I think I tried on like 30 dresses before I made my final decision on this dress. It just felt right when I had it on and knew it would look lovely with my hair piece that I had fell in love with. So I wanted to make sure my dress looked stunning with the hair piece.

Adam and the groomsman socks were so cute! Is there a story about the different socks? About the socks there really wasn’t any story behind it. One of his groomsman has the idea that it would be nice if they all wore crazy socks.

What was your inspiration for your wedding day? Our inspiration on our wedding day was to have an elegant and romantic, yet classic look. What made us fall in love with Deer Creek was that it had such a beautiful elegant reception room that set it all. There wasn’t any need for much décor. And I love the fact that we had the option to have to ceremony there too. I wanted to make sure my guest weren’t running around from one place to another. Everything was all inclusive. We are so happy that we choose this place to get married.

What advice would you give other couples planning their wedding. My advice to the other couples is to take a few deep breathes, and just take one step at a time. And to prepare yourself mentally for “if” anything goes wrong you don’t freak out. At the end of the day no one will know if anything didn’t go as planned. Just enjoy each other and what’s yet to come in your futures. Because at the end of the day it is really a celebration of each other and the unity that you guys made to each other.
