Sam + Brad
How did you both meet? We met at a bar in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Neither of us had expected the night to end in us finding our soulmates! We had an instant connection and found out we had so many things in common. We spent that night dancing and talking until 4 in the morning. I am originally from Michigan and was in Florida for grad school. I had plans to move home in a few months, but that night Brad told me he had a feeling I would find a reason to want to stay in Florida. He was right! From that night, we spent almost every weekend together, I stayed in Florida, and now we are happily married and excited to see what the future will bring!
How did Brad propose? Brad proposed on Labor Day weekend 2015. He had told me he had planned a surprise staycation and drove me to the Biltmore in Coral Gables. That day there was a big thunderstorm and when the weather finally cleared up Brad told me he wanted to walk around the hotel and take some pictures. Although I was confused why Brad would want to take pictures in the rain, I tried to go along with it. Needless to say, his original plan to find a nice spot outside to propose was ruined. So instead he popped the questions during a very romantic and beautiful dinner. Which worked out great because we have some excellent photos that the waiter was able to snap!
What was your most memorable moment of your wedding? Definitely our first look! We didn’t want any family members or friends around for this moment. We wanted it to be just between us because I was so excited for Brad to see me in my dress for the first time. The second Brad saw me he was brought to tears, which then brought me to tears! It was an emotional and special moment.
What was your inspiration for your wedding day? We wanted something simple, elegant, and romantic. We spent months searching for the perfect wedding venue and when we stumbled across Mirasol Country Club we both fell in love. The country club was being remodeled and we knew it was going to be stunning! We weren’t disappointed. We got married outside because we wanted our out-of-towners coming from cold weather places to get a Florida feel. The weather ended up being perfect that weekend!
