Jupiter Beach Engagement Session | Jennifer + David

Jennifer + David

How did you both meet? Dave and I met the old-fashioned way… online! After graduating from Florida State University in 2012, I moved back home to South Florida to be closer to family and find a job. After a year of fun with friends, and working non-stop, I decided one night to give the world of online dating a shot. “What’s the worst that could happen?” I thought. Similarly, after a year of working as a flight instructor in Trenton, NJ, Dave was offered a job working as a private pilot in Pompano Beach, FL. Since he was new to the area, his friend (now best man!) encouraged him to try his luck online. We’re not exactly sure who messaged who first, but in April of 2013 we began to talk back and forth via email every time we had the opportunity. Emails turned into texts and soon not a day went by where we didn’t talk. After several failed attempts to actually meet (someone always had to go fly! =P) we eventually had our first date in May of 2013, and the rest was history!

How did Dave propose? We had plans to celebrate our 3 year anniversary at Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach one week after our official anniversary since Dave had to fly the week before. He had mentioned going to the beach after dinner but due to the weather, I didn’t think we would be able to make it. We decided to give it a shot, and headed to Delray Beach. I took off my heels and held them in my hand as we walked along the beach. We stopped and hugged as we looked at the ocean, and the next thing I knew Dave pulled a box out of his pocket, looked at me, and dropped to one knee. I was so shocked that I dropped my heels in the sand, covered my mouth, and said “Oh My God!”. He asked me to marry him using my full name, with both of us taking in the emotion of the moment. He slipped the ring on my finger, and we hugged and kissed as strangers down the beach started to cheer. Dave waved at them, while I was too in shock to even look anywhere but at him! We headed home to start sharing the news, and Dave had champagne chilling and two glasses all set up to celebrate! It was the best, most perfect night!

What do you envision for your wedding day? We envision our wedding day to be a celebration filled with family, friends, and a ton of love!
