How did you and Eric meet and how did he propose? We met in the enchanting city of New Orleans at a bar through mutual friends at Tulane. The night we met, I told my roommate that I had met “my husband,” but he didn’t know it yet!
Eric proposed on the Billy Goat Trail, which follows the Potomac River in Maryland. We love hiking and it was a beautiful, special moment for us. In fact, we are hiking Kilimanjaro for our honeymoon next month.What was the one moment on your wedding day that is most memorable?
What was the one moment on your wedding day that is most memorable? This is tough because the whole evening was full of memorable moments. If we had to choose one it would be when we were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Rifkin for our first dance and being surrounded by our guests holding the sparklers. We felt like we were in a fairytale. A very close second was our “first look.” This was a special and intimate moment. I didn’t expect that I would cry, but I was so overwhelmed with emotions.
What inspired your vision for your wedding? The venue inspired our vision. The Addison is so charming and I knew I wanted to maintain a rustic, yet elegant look. All of our colors needed to be soft and decorations needed to be subtle. The venue did the rest!
If there is any information you would like to share about your day please feel free to do so? We cannot think of a single thing we would change about our wedding. The food was delectable, the music kept everyone entertained and the venue made us feel like we were in a fairytale. It felt surreal!
What advice do you have for couples currently planning a wedding? When you get stressed and frustrated, close your eyes and imagine your fiance standing at the end of that aisle. The joy you will feel is indescribable. This will get you through your most stressful moments! At the end of the day, this is YOUR wedding. Your guests will have fun no matter what. Make this about what you want and nobody else.
