Jamie + Bryan’s Frenchman’s Reserve Wedding / Palm Beach Gardens

Jamie + Bryan

How did Bryan propose?

I really love Christmas time in New York so each year we try to make a trip to visit family and friends during the holiday season. In 2012, we planned our trip as usual but Bryan had a secret agenda.  On the Saturday we were visiting I went to my favorite cupcake store, Crumbs, and bought Bryan two jumbo cupcakes. Joking around I told my friend “when I give Bryan these cupcakes, he’s going to want to marry me.” Little did I know, he was purchasing the ring at that moment! Later that night we saw the Rockettes and then walked over to the tree in RockefellerCenter to take our picture. After our friends snapped a picture of us, Bryan got down on his knee and proposed!! I was more shocked than words can explain because knowing him so well; I always thought I would know when he was planning to pop the question.  Needless to say, I said “yes!” and all the people around us were cheering…it truly was an amazing feeling…

What was the one moment on your wedding day that is most memorable?

The most memorable moment of the wedding day would have to be walking down the isle and the amazing feeling of having my dad by my side and Bryan waiting for me at the alter. The presence of my family and friends made it feel like I was surrounded by so much love as I experienced these extra special moments of my life.

Did you have something borrowed, something blue, and something new?

No. I racked my brain on what to do for the “something borrowed” but I wanted to pick out all new stuff.  So basically, everything was “something new”.

What details or traditions did you include on your wedding day?

My wedding was very traditional.  We had our ceremony in a church and completed all the usual formalities from the parent dances to the garter toss.  One tradition we stuck by was our Italian tradition of a lot of good food! That was important to us and according to my guests we successfully carried out that tradition!

What advice do you have for couples currently planning a wedding?

Enjoy EVERY minute from planning your wedding to your last dance at the end of the wedding night. As everyone will warn you, it goes so fast and you will look back and wish you could do it again! Girls – do the girly stuff with your mom and girlfriends.  I probably looked at 20 venues with my mom and we had fun every time.  Guys – make sure your bride has everything she wants! It only happens once and this day means A LOT to us. Most of all work together and have fun with your fiancé and do not get hung up on the hiccups, even if things go wrong right before the wedding.  Our wedding coordinator at the venue quit two days before the wedding and the show went on perfectly!  When people tell you everything comes together, it truly does.
