What was your most memorable moment on your wedding day?
The most memorable moment would have to be when we were reciting our vows to each other. The moment when we were looking into each others eyes, and even though there were over 100 other people around, we only saw each others faces and heard each others voice.
Your veil was gorgeous! Tell us the story behind finding your cathedral veil?
I knew from the beginning that I wanted an all lace wedding dress, but I had never put much thought into the veil. That was, until I found MY veil. I fell in love the moment I saw it. It was the perfect detailing to add that wow factor to my ensemble, and I am so grateful my new stepmother-in-law purchased it for me.
Tell us about the vintage purse you had with your getting ready details?
This purse is special because it was Granny Travis’, my great-grandmother. It is so old and delicate that I didn’t want to risk actually taking it with me to the venue, but it was a must-have for my getting ready details because each of my sisters previously used it as their something old for their weddings too.
What was your funniest moment?
Definitely when my seven year old nephew and ring-bearer caught the garter. We had to have a re-throw and announce that the man who catches the must be over the age of 18. Priceless.
What inspired your vision for your wedding day?
We wanted our wedding to be simple yet elegant. We didn’t want to look back years from now and regret our color choices, so we kept it neutral with light pink, gray and ivory. Everything turned out absolutely stunning!
What advice would you give other couples planning their wedding?
Throughout the planning process everyone kept telling us to slow down, take it all in and enjoy every minute. As cliche as this sounds, it really is the best advice. It will be the best day of your life so soak in every moment because the actual day flies by. Also, if you have a detail or something that is important to you, don’t let anyone else convince you otherwise. Even though it is the most popular decision now-a-days, we didn’t do the first look and wouldn’t change our decision for the world because that moment when I was walking down the aisle was even more special having not seen my future husband at all earlier that day.
