Emily + Lloyd’s | Addison Boca Raton Wedding

Emily + Lloyd

How did you and Lloyd meet and how did he propose? Lloyd and I met back in 2007 while attending the University of Central Florida. We met at our favorite college bar and instantly hit it off. I had just gotten out of a relationship and wasn’t interested in dating but his persistence paid off and a year later we went on our first date.

Proposal: Lloyd planned on proposing the night that we moved into our new home by hiding the ring in a moving box. Unfortunately we weren’t finished moving until 3am and I was out cold before we unpacked. Lloyd was frantic the next morning because everyone knew his plans to propose and he thought someone would blow the secret. While I was in the shower getting ready for work, Lloyd tried writing “Will you marry me?” in the steam on the mirror but I got out of the shower too quick and he frantically wiped it away. Luckily I was too exhausted to notice his strange behavior. He then ran to the bedroom and asked me to come back to bed for a minute. I eagerly jumped back into bed, he pulled the ring out from under the covers and proposed. It was the most beautiful moment and so hilarious at the same time.

What was the one moment on your wedding day that is most memorable? most memorable moment of our wedding day was the first look. I wasn’t expecting it to be so emotional but as soon as we saw each other all of the nerves, excitement, and happiness just poured out.

What inspired your vision for your wedding? I had absolutely no inspired vision to start out with. Thanks to Pinterest, I wanted a rustic barn wedding one day and a beach wedding the next day. Everything changed when we discovered The Addison. It was the first venue we saw and we booked it the same day. After that, my vision was simple, elegant and romantic. Our florist Christopher Cope made our vision a reality and totally exceeded my expectations!

If there is any information you would like to share about your day? Lloyd and I want to thank you and Brandon for being so efficient and awesome on our wedding day. We had a large, rowdy wedding party and you were very patient with us and kept things moving along.

What advice do you have for couples currently planning a wedding? My advice to couples planning a wedding is to stay true to yourselves and what you want. We knew we didn’t want traditional wedding music, a wedding cake or the bouquet/garter toss and I’m glad we didn’t doubt ourselves. Our priorities were excellent food, a nonstop dance party and great photos. The food at The Addison was out of this world and our DJ Michael Sarysz kept our guests on the dance floor the entire night. Our vendors truly made our wedding day perfect!
