Elizabeth + Danny

How did you both meet? We met through my cousin who I would hangout with when I would come home from college in Orlando. My cousin was friends with Danny and we would all go out together on the weekends. After a couple times of hanging out, Danny mentioned that his job needed him to work the next couple weekends at their store in Orlando. After a series of circumstances that seemed like part of a perfect plan to bring us together, we became great friends and 6 1/2 years later he asked me to be his best friend forever!
How did Danny propose? I was away for the weekend visiting a friend in Boston. Danny was in Miami visiting family and made a spontaneous trip to the family’s favorite jewelry store to “just look”. Well, he left with my ring… 🙂
Once he returned from Miami he made a pit stop at my parents house to ask for their permission. Little did I know, I called him to see how he was doing while he was there asking them! He later picked me up from the airport and totally through me off by explaining that he was at my parents house because he was planning a surprise for my birthday. Inside I was really bummed. When we got home, I spotted roses and a card with my name on it. I thought, “wow he really missed me!” I read through the card, and he ended it with “So, I have one short question for you” and he got down on one knee. I was so so surprised and we immediately started crying with excitement! A night together, we’ll never forget!
What was your inspiration for your wedding? I had a vision for a simply classic wedding. Danny and I share a love for food and nature. I had a vision for incorporating both into every part of our day. Our bouquets were full of cabbage kale, herbs and flowers and the guys boutineers were bundle of fresh rosemary and lavender. We fell in love with our venue because it was a restaurant with a beautiful view of the ocean. It combined all the feels we wanted in our reception.
What was your most memorable moment of your wedding day? The most memorable moment and part of the day that I will always replay in my head is the moment Danny and I were announced into our reception as the new Mr. & Mrs. Gonzalez. Looking out to all of our friends and family celebrating with us and our beautiful venue all decorated is something I’ll never forget.
