Alison + Joshua
How did you both meet? We actually met on match.com and the truth of the matter is I almost stopped talking to Alison because she really wouldn’t reply to my emails and I thought she was blowing me off. Finally, we started chatting and we had our first date Sunday June 22nd 2014 at the Yardhouse in Gulfstream Park. I remember walking up to the Yard House and seeing Alison sitting outside drinking a beer. She was wearing a coral shirt and white shorts, when she saw me walking over she smiled at me, she was the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. We had a great first date, even though I was sweating like crazy. Our next date was supposed to be next weekend, but I asked if we could see each other sooner so we planned on Tuesday night that week. And from that moment forward we have not been separated.
How did Joshua propose? This is how I proposed. I wanted it to be something special. I am always telling Alison that she makes me feel like I am on top of the world. I wanted her to know what I was feeling so I took her up in a hot air balloon to the top of the world. From the balloon the views were incredible and amazing. I told her that I am always telling her that she makes me feel like I’m on top of the world and that I wanted to bring her to the top of the world so she can feel what I feel everytime were together. Half way through the balloon flight, I got down on 1 knee in the scary old ricketi hot air balloon basket and I asked her if she would make me feel like I’m on top of the world forever by marrying me. She said yes……
She is the love of my life, my best friend and truly my soulmate. I thank God, my lucky stars and everything in between that I found her.
What do you envision for your wedding day? Family and friends are very important to us, so we wanted a smaller wedding with just our closest friends and family. One of our colors is coral because that is the color shirt I wore on our first date. Hot air balloons will be featured on everything from pillows to napkins to table card numbers, because that is how Joshua proposed. We decided on March 22 for our wedding date because we met on the 22nd of June. We wanted all aspects of our wedding to have some kind of meaning behind them.
